Elusive Master Key

You’ve heard if it, I’m sure
That elusive master key –
The equation that explains everything,
The key to all doors,
The answer to the universal question

In everything, we all
Strive, Work, Pray, Search
For our ultimate master key,
Unattainable or within reach.

As many would,
I devote myself to the search
For eternal knowledge,
In hopes to break
Infinite rebirths and ascend –
Yet that key eludes me still.

For sure, a key awaits
Within a maze of lovers
Whose key fits not –
Many have been trapped.

For as long as I remember,
I knew I met dead ends,
Fearing entrapment,
I pursued what
I thought was the key.
Oh, how discomforting that was,
To gamble all I had –
But, oh…
How rewarding,
That click,
Ah, what joy awaits me?
