The Surge and The Tide
Fingertips wade through silken streams,
mapping warmth in velvet seams.
A brush, a press, a slow unfurl,
where nerve-lit pathways spark and swirl.
The touch ascends, a velvet rush,
afferent signals race and flush,
up through spine, to cortex wide,
where pleasure blooms and won’t subside.
Lips collide, soft pressure deep,
a kiss that stirs, a promise steep.
Dopamine spills, a heady wave,
oxytocin binds, two bodies crave.
The breath quickens, the chest expands,
the heart pounds wild at love’s commands.
Vessels widen, warm blood flows,
to fill where longing dares to grow.
Nitric oxide whispers low,
smooth muscle melts, the floodgates show.
The corpora cavernosa rise,
veins compressed as tension ties.
Steel-wrapped silk, a living spear,
held by fire, by need sincere.
A tempo builds, each stroke, each sigh,
the body’s symphony climbing high.
Then pressure peaks, a sudden break,
sympathetic nerves awake.
Rhythmic waves, a pulsing shroud,
muscles clench as cries grow loud.
The final crest, a lightning spark,
propels in waves from deep to dark.
The muscles yield, the fire wanes,
phosphodiesterase type 5 reclaims.
The flood withdraws, the pulse grows tame,
yet echoes burn in passion’s name.
Spent but whole, the embers gleam,
adrift within a fading dream.
